To get the best performance out of your MiCloud solution, evaluate your existing network and future communication needs to make sure you are prepared for this life- and business-changing technology.
Don’t let your local area network (LAN) infrastructure hold you back: Assess and understand what services and features you need, and evaluate them according to the requirements of the business. Once you know what you need, the LAN can be designed, optimised and adapted to ensure the solution works perfectly.
When embarking on a network assessment, remember that voice traffic is a real-time occurrence; so delay, jitter and packet loss could potentially rear their ugly heads. In order to avoid this, look at bandwidth provisioning (which is usually done on the Fibre termination side), end-to-end QoS so that voice is given priority across the network, and VLANs. VLANs allow you to provide your voice traffic with its own virtual network which is managed and monitored separately – ensuring that MiCloud will never give you a day’s trouble.
