To activate the smart tag option in a Microsoft application, click Office on the icon in the upper left hand corner of the application, and then choose Word/Powerpoint/Excel Options. Then, choose Proofing in the left navigation bar, and click on the AutoCorrect Options in the AutoCorrect window. Once you have done that, tick the Label text with smart tags checkbox as well as the Call (Softphone+ telephone number smart tag recognizer) checkbox. Click OK in the AutoCorrect and Word/Powerpoint/Excel Options windows.
If you want to re-enable the softphone add-in, go to the Tools menu in Microsoft Outlook and choose Trust Center. In the Trust Center window under the menu on the left, select Add-ins. Look for the application add-in in the main window. If it does not appear on the list, go to the bottom of the list and select Disabled Items under Manage in the drop down menu. Press the Go… button and choose the add-ins that you want to enable.
The volume and whether you are using headset mode or speaker mode can be chosen from the softphone. Mute your microphone by right-clicking on the dock icon.
