Outbound Rules


To create a new rule, just click Add and follow the instructions to build a new rule with matching criteria and actions.

  • Call destination matches against what the call’s destination is tagged with.
  • Call source matches the call’s source to a list of tags.
  • Date matches a date for the call.
  • Day of week matches a week day.
  • Diverted To matches calls that have been diverted while using the “Enter number:” setting. This does not apply to calls diverted to your own device(s).
  • Dialling number matches the dialed number against a set of defined number types.
  • Incall matches the call status and specifies what should happen if you are busy on the phone when a call comes in.
  • Nightmode matches the Nightmode state and specifies what happens when Nightmode is active or not active.
  • Role matches the current presence role when a call comes in.
  • Time matches a time value.
  • Queue dictates that the call should be forwarded to the personal queue. This rule is usually used together with the Incall match criteria. Calls that have been in a personal queue can only be diverted to internal extensions.
  • Active diversion number ensures that the call is redirected to the number set by a feature code. This will only happen if an active call diversion set by a feature code exists.
  • Micloud dictates that the call should be forwarded to MiCloud.
  • Switchboard ensures that the call will be forwarded to the switchboard number.
  • Voicemail dictates that the call should be forwarded to the voicemail inbox.
  • Voicemail play activity makes the call receive your current activity and then forwards it to voicemail.
  • Voicemail play busy in call makes play activity busy happen in the call, which is then forwarded to the voicemail.
  • Voicemail play out of reach plays activity out of reach and forwards the call to voicemail.
  • Enter phone number… dictates that the call should be forwarded to a custom phone number added to the rule.
  • External PBX phone forwards the call to a desk phone that is connected to a PBX and the system.
  • Play activity dictates that the call will play current activity.
  • Send ringing plays a ringing tone.
  • Send busy response sends a busy tone to the caller.
  • Send decline response send a decline tone to the caller.

If a rule is matched, the action can apply to different destinations, including:

  • Desktop phone
  • Lync application
  • Analogue phone
  • Mobile phone
